Genealogical data collected by laymen can be a rich source for social-economical historical research. Applicant prof. dr. Tine de Moor proposed a platform that checks family trees for common mistakes and errors, and allows researchers to use the quality-checked data. Together with developer dr. Corry Gellatly the DH-Lab created a Laravel-based web application. The framework has recently been made public, and is used by researchers for a study in development of the West-European marriage pattern.
